Maintenance

The level of maintenance required to your kitchen will depend on the how your kitchen is constructed.

  • Kawana Kitchens construct cabinets using 16mm thick High Moisture Resistant Particleboard
  • Kawana Kitchens cabinets are glued and screwed with 16mm thick Solid backs and machine applied edging
  • Kawana Kitchens offer the service of upgrading melamine edging to 2mm PVC/ABS edging in house

Our hardware consists of  Blum hinges and Metabox drawer runners which have a manufacturers lifetime warranty. Both are put through wear and fatigue tests with and without additional loads. Hinges are rated at 200,000 opening and closing cycles and drawer runners at 100,000 opening and closing cycles.

Due to the lifetime warranty and the quality of our Blum Hardware a customer need not be concerned about the lifespan of their hardware, add to that the finger touch operation and you will have a functional, durable, workable kitchen.

Kawana Kitchens postform our benchtops in house and all joins are completed by our state of the art CNC machine, ensuring that each join is perfectly matched. All our benchtops are manufactured with 33mm thick High Moisture Resistant particleboard with a white melamine finish to the underside.

Having a melamine underside to all of our benchtops assists with moisture resistance and possible warping. It is especially beneficial for wet areas that include underbench dishwashers.

Kawana Kitchens is a quality assured supplier and have in place inspection points throughout all of our processes. You are guaranteed that defective materials are not used in our cabinetwork.

Some DO’s and DO NOT’s to look after your benchtop

DO

  • Wipe benches clean with a damp cloth
  • Polish with a dry cloth
  • Mop all liquids promptly
  • Sit kettles, toasters, and hot appliances on a stand
  • Keep excess water away from joins

DO NOT

  • Do not place kettles on the benchtop joins
  • Do not cut items directly on the benchtop
  • Do not use scourers, polishes or abrasive cleaners
  • Do not place hot items directly onto the surface
  • Do not sit or stand on your benchtop
